Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-2 students are playing a game called sharks and minnows. This is a fun dodging and fleeing game. 3-8 students will play kickball. This is a game that utilizes throwing, passing, catching, kicking, and cooperation skills. We still need more volunteers in the afternoon for field day What we are going to do? K-2 students are will do parachute activities. This improves upper body strength and team building skills. 3-8 students will do relay races and play kickball. This is a game that utilizes throwing, passing, catching, kicking, and cooperation skills. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6-7th grade students will work on an aesthetic movement routine. 8th grade will complete a research the harmful effects of marijuana and debate whether it should be legal like other harmful substances like cigarettes/tobacco. What we are going to do? 7-8th grade students will get back tests. 6-7th grade students will perform their aesthetic movement routine. 8th grade students will turn in papers and have a class discussion on the harmful effects of marijuana. We will also discuss if it should be legal like other harmful substances like cigarettes/tobacco.

Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-5 students are playing a game called zombie tag. This is a fun dodging and fleeing game. 6-8 students will play speedball. This is a game that utilizes passing, catching, and soccer skills. K-5 students will have their Jump Rope For Heart event day on Tuesday, May 23rd (weather permitting). We still need more volunteers for field day (especially in the afternoon for 3rd-5th grade). Middle School Students will also meet and plan for field day. What we are going to do? K-2 students are playing a game called sharks and minnows. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 7-8th grade had an assembly on cyber-bullying. 6th grade students will go over tests and begin creating an aesthetic movement piece. Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? Field Day Flyers have been sent home for volunteers. Elementary Field Day is scheduled for June 2nd and Middle School Field Day is scheduled for June 5th. Our K-2 students are playing a game called the ball brigade relay. This relay works on throwing/catching skills and improves cardiovascular endurance. 3-5 students will be playing a cognitive game called secret agent tag that also improves cardiovascular endurance. In addition, students will also play tug of war. This is a fun teamwork game that improves strength. 6-8 students will continue their ultimate frisbee units. What we are going to do? K-2 students are playing a game called the ball brigade relay. This relay works on throwing/catching skills and improves cardiovascular endurance. 3-5 students will be playing a cognitive game called secret agent tag that also improves cardiovascular endurance. In addition, students will also play tug of war. This is a fun teamwork game that improves strength. 6-8 students will continue their ultimate frisbee units Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade will learn about the integumentary system. 7th grade will continue their unit on fitness with a sports science video on adaptations. 8th grade will review for their test. This game emphasizes teamwork, cardiovascular endurance, and bowling skills. 3-5 students will also do fitness testing for push-ups. 6-8th grade students will learn about the forehand flick throw in ultimate frisbee. What we are going to do? Majority of students did not meet due to PSSA Testing. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade will learn about the muscular system. 7th grade will continue their unit on fitness. and learn about different types of muscular contractions and muscle fiber types. In addition, students watched a sports science video on adaptations through exercise. 8th grade students reviewed for their test on the circulatory system. What we are going to do? 6th grade will learn about the integumentary system. 7th grade will continue their unit on fitness with a sports science video on adaptations. 8th grade will review for their test. Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-2 students will celebrate our backwards day by playing backwards soccer. This is like a soccer game, but everything is backwards. Goals are backwards, the ball can only be hit with hands, and goalkeepers can only use their feet. 6-8th grade students will continue their floor hockey unit with gameplay. What we are going to do? The majority of students will not meet due to PSSA testing. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? Students did not meet this week due to PSSA testing. What we are going to do? 6th grade will continue their unit on the skeletal, muscular, and integumentary system. 7th grade will continue their unit on fitness. 8th grade will continue their unit on the circulatory system. |
