Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-2 students have continued dodging and fleeing games. The game we played this week was called the helicopter tag. 3-5 students have continued capture the flag. This game is great for increasing cardiovascular endurance, working on teamwork, and discussing different strategies. In 6-8th grade students have finished their football unit. Students will write a reflection on one of the units from the trimester. What we are going to do? K-5 students will start throwing games when they return from break. 6-8 students will start their volleyball unit when they return from break. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? All students took test on information that they learned from this trimester. What we are going to do? Will reflect on a unit from PE class. Students will write about strengths/weaknesses and how they could improve themselves to be a better athlete/teammate. Students will also reflect on how the activity is good for his or her personal health.

Students learned strategies to play flag football. What we are going to do? The game we played this week were called “skunk tag” and “What time is it Mr. Wolf.” 3-5 students have continued our track and field. We worked on throwing this week for track and field. In 6-8th grade students have continued their football unit. Students learned strategies to play flag football. What we are going to do? K-2 students will be continuing dodging and fleeing games. 3-5 students will play capture the flag. 6-8 students will continue their football unit. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade started creating posters of all the major body systems. 7-8th grade learned about the digestive system and how it absorbs nutrients and eliminates waste products. The game we played this week was called “Ollie Ollie Octopus.” 3-5 students have continued our track and field and kickball unit. We worked on middle distance and relays this week for track and field. In kickball we expanded upon rules and strategies in our gameplay. 6-8th grade students have continued their football unit. Students learned how to snap and play flag football. What we are going to do? K-2 students will be continuing dodging and fleeing games. 3-5 students will continue their track and field/kickball unit. 6-8 students will continue their football unit. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade learned about homeostasis and how it keeps our body balanced. 7-8th grade learned about the digestive system and how it breaks down nutrients to provide our body with energy. What we are going to do? 6th grade students will begin to create posters on an organ system with a partner. 7-8th grade students learned how final digestion, absorption, and elimination works in the digestive system. |
