Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-2 students will play scooter soccer. 3-5th grade students will play a modified basketball game to finish up their basketball unit. 6-8th grade will finish their basketball unit and learn how to play zone defense. What we are going to do? K-2 students will play scooter hockey. 3-8th grade students will start a floor hockey unit . Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade students will finish their reflection on a PE unit from this year. For IB this assesses Criterion D. 7-8th grade students did not meet last week due to Practice PSSA Testing. What we are going to do? 6th grade will turn in their reflection and watch a sports science video on Cristiano Ronaldo that teaches about the nervous system. 7th grade students will turn in their New Year’s Resolution assignment and watch a sports science video on Cristiano Ronaldo that teaches about the nervous system. 8th grade students will turn in their New Year’s Resolution Assignment and watch a documentary on the science of former professional cyclist Lance Armstrong.

Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-2 students will play scooter basketball. 3-5th grade students will continue their basketball unit with a game called hoop ball to help improve passing and catching. 6-8th grade will continue their basketball unit and learn how to play team defense. What we are going to do? K-2 students will play scooter soccer . 3-5th will have modified gameplay to finish up their basketball unit . 6-8th grade will continue gameplay for basketball and learn how to play a zone defense. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade students will continue reflection on a PE unit from this year. For IB this assesses Criterion D. 7-8th grade students will finish their New Year’s Resolution Project. Students will look into their own lives and create a plan for how they can improve their own physical, mental, and social health. This will be an IB assessment for Criterion B. What we are going to do? 6th grade students will have an extra PE since time was missed for the school’s Chinese New Year Celebration. 7-8th grade students will not meet due to PSSA Practice Testing. K-2 students will have various station activities. 3-5th grade students will continue their basketball unit with a lesson that emphasizes improving passing, catching, and shooting. 6-8th grade will continue their basketball unit and learn concepts of gameplay. What we are going to do? K-2 students will do various station activities. 3-5th grade students will continue basketball activities. 6-8th grade will begin to learn team defense. K-5 students will play a throwing game called “Pirates of the Caribbean.” 6-8th grade students will continue their volleyball unit and be assessed on serving and the forearm pass. This is part of the IB assessment for Criterion C. What we are going to do? K-2 students will play a throwing game called “Popcorn Basketball.” 3-8th grade students will start a unit on basketball. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade students will present their organ system poster with their partner. 7-8th grade students turn in their nutritionist projects and begin working on a New Year’s Resolution Project. Students will look into their own lives and create a plan for how they can improve their own physical, mental, and social health. This will be an IB assessment for Criterion B. What we are going to do? 6th grade students will begin a reflection assignment, which assesses Criterion D on the IB Rubric. Students will pick a physical education unit to reflect their strengths/weaknesses and create a plan to improve. |
