YSCP Weekly Newsletter #13
Health and Physical Education Mr. Vincent Fadale ([email protected]) Physical Education What we’ve been doing? K-5 students have played a game this week called “Over The Net.” This activity gives students the opportunity to practice throwing and catching skills. Strategy is an important element of this game. Being able to throw in an open space can make it more difficult for opponents to catch the dodgeballs. 6-8th grade students have finished up skill work and will begin gameplay this week. What we are going to do? K-2 students will start throwing games when they return from break. 3-5 students will start their volleyball unit. 6-8th grade students will continue their volleyball unit. Health (Middle School) What we’ve been doing? 6th grade students will continue working on their poster with their partner. 7-8th grade students will begin an individual project. The student will play the role of a nutritionist and help his/her client reach his/her weight goal through healthy eating. What we are going to do? 6th grade students will finish working on their poster with their partner. 7-8th grade students will begin a project where they will use what they learned in the first trimester to create a nutrition plan. *To see a picture of me crossing the finish line at the Nittany Valley Half Marathon please visit the Nittany Valley Half Marathon Facebook page. I was able to win in a time of 1:15:38 which is a 5:46 per mile pace. I enjoy being a healthy role model and promoting an active lifestyle for my students.
